Antoni Llena's homenatge als castellers
I don't know about you but sometimes I have a hard time making any sense of a sculptor's thematic scheme of their work and this metal piece was no different.
See if you can make sense of it.
Anyway, this piece by Antoni Llena is called "Homage to the Castellers". The castellers are a group of men, women and children who form human towers by climbing one on top of another and they go up very high ... sometimes to 20 feet.
This type of event doesn't go without some kind of casualty. Last year I was at a festa where the castellers performed and one person was injured and another died.
I love watching their performances and appreciate their art.
